New Delhi, November 1 (IANS). In today’s busy life, people forget to take care of healthy food and health. As a result people have to face complaints of underweight or uncontrolled weight. Also, depression and anxiety start increasing. In such a situation, doing yoga can be an effective solution. ‘Uttanapadasana’ is one of these.
The Ministry of AYUSH advises that by practicing ‘Uttanapadasana’ daily, physical problems like stomach ache, indigestion and diarrhea start getting reduced. Its regular practice is helpful in relieving abdominal pain, indigestion and diarrhea. It strengthens the abdominal and pelvic muscles. It is also helpful in overcoming depression and anxiety.”
To do this, spread a yoga mat on the floor. Then lie down and keep both hands close to the body. Keep the palms towards the ground and take a deep breath and slowly raise the legs up to 30-45 degrees. Hold for 10-20 seconds, then lower down while exhaling. Do 3-5 rounds in the beginning, then increase gradually. It will be more beneficial if taken in the morning on an empty stomach.
This asana calms the mind, balances the nervous system and also reduces stress levels. This is a great way to keep the mind stable for the youth who are struggling with office tension or study pressure.
By doing ‘Uttanapadasana’ blood circulation improves, which has a direct effect on the digestive system. The process of digesting food improves and provides relief from problems like gas or constipation. This asana is considered very beneficial for those who do not clean their stomach every day or who feel heaviness after eating.
With regular practice, the difference will start appearing in 15 days, but take special care that pregnant women and hernia or surgery patients should avoid doing this asana or consult a doctor.
