New Delhi, March 1 (IANS). In today’s busy life, mental stress, lack of sleep and irritability have become common problems. In such a situation, some yoga postures can prove beneficial for health. Hand postures play an important role in balancing body and mind. One of these is Purna Chandra Mudra, which is called Full Moon Gesture in English. This posture helps in improving mental health.

According to the Ministry of AYUSH, regular practice of Purna Chandra Mudra helps in reducing restlessness of the mind. When a person feels stressed, angry or anxious, his body goes into fight mode. This posture helps in gradually bringing the body to the state of rest and digestion. This normalizes the heartbeat and calms the mind.

This mudra is also considered helpful in improving concentration and decision making ability. When the mind is calm, thinking is clear. Be it students or working people, it can be beneficial for everyone. Deep breathing during exercise helps to concentrate. This increases creativity and improves the ability to take right decisions.

Regular practice of Purna Chandra Mudra reduces fatigue and the body feels light. This mudra can be done in any position, like sitting on a chair or even lying down comfortably.

It is also considered beneficial for people doing desk jobs. Working on screens for long periods of time can increase mental fatigue and irritability. In such a situation, closing your eyes and taking deep breaths in this posture for a few minutes refreshes the mind.

However, the Ministry of AYUSH says that if a person is suffering from any health problem, then medical consultation is necessary before practicing this posture.
