New Delhi, November 17 (IANS). Yoga is part of our ancient tradition. At the same time, there are many such yogasanas, which along with strengthening the body, also provide calm and energy to the mind. One of these is Purvottanasana. Its daily practice makes the body flexible and muscles strong.
The Ministry of AYUSH has described Purvottanasana as an important yoga asana, according to which, by doing it, the muscles of the hands, legs and back remain strong. At the same time, the spinal cord remains flexible and energy circulates in the body.
To do this, first spread the yoga mat. After this, now sit in Dandasana posture. Place your palms on the ground, behind your hips. Move the head backwards as per your convenience. Breathing in, lift your hips up off the ground. Now try to bring the whole body in a straight line, now try to keep the soles of your feet on the ground and keep the knees straight and tilt your head backwards. Do this for some time as per your capacity, then exhale and come back to normal position.
Practicing it daily provides relief from back pain and headache, strengthens the back muscles and provides relief from back pain. Besides, headache also reduces due to blood circulation.
According to Ayurveda, it increases flexibility in the body. Besides, it also brings flexibility in the muscles of the body and fills the body with energy and also makes the mind work faster.
Along with this, it also helps in reducing nervousness and fatigue, calming the mind and energizing the body. It stretches and massages the intestines and abdominal organs.
