Sikar, June 27 (IANS). Before the launch of the National Pulse Polio Campaign, a public awareness rally was taken out in Sikar on Sunday. A target was set to administer polio medicine to 3.16 lakh children. Regarding which the reactions of Additional District Collector Ratan Kumar Swami, Sikar CMHO Dr. Ashok Mahariya and nursing students have come to the fore.
Speaking to reporters, Additional District Collector Ratan Kumar Swamy said that the National Pulse Polio Campaign will start in the district from tomorrow, June 28, and it will continue for three days. A total of 3200 booths have been made in the district. Special arrangements have also been made at bus stands and railway stations. The medical and health departments have completed all preparations and staff have been deployed. Under this campaign, polio drops will be administered to children aged between birth and five years.
Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) of Sikar, Dr. Ashok Mahariya said that a rally is being organized to make people aware about pulse polio at the district level and block level. We have achieved victory by eradicating this disease from the entire country. We have to maintain the victory. Its virus is still alive in neighboring countries. More than three thousand booths have been made in Sikar district and two drops of polio will be administered to more than three lakh children.
Nursing student Varsha said that we all have gathered regarding the National Polio Programme. A rally was taken out to make more and more people aware. This national program will be run from June 28 to July 1. He appealed to the people to give ‘Do Boond Zindagi’ to children below five years of age.
First year ANM student Karun Kanwar said that this program is being run to administer polio medicine. He said that polio has now been eradicated in the country, but this program is being organized to prevent this disease from occurring in children in future. He appealed to the people for cooperation.
