New Delhi, March 29 (IANS). Increasing pollution and strong sunlight have a deep impact on our skin. In such a situation, many people resort to expensive beauty products, but the chemicals present in them can sometimes cause further damage to the skin. Experts believe that if the skin gets nourishment from inside, its effect is visible on the outside also.
This is the reason why seasonal fruits are considered very beneficial for the skin. The natural elements present in them penetrate deep into the skin and cleanse it, remove dead cells and help in the formation of new cells. Especially citrus fruits, which are rich in Vitamin C, help in brightening the skin and reducing blemishes.
According to scientific research, Vitamin C increases the production of collagen in the skin, which keeps the skin tight and healthy. Orange available in summer season is considered most beneficial in this matter. The antioxidants and Vitamin C present in it help in reducing skin tanning.
When the skin is exposed to the strong rays of the sun, the amount of melanin in it increases, due to which the face starts looking dark. The nutrients found in orange gradually improve the complexion of the skin. Apart from this, orange also cleanses the skin, thereby removing the dirt and oil accumulated on the face.
Experts say that the orange peel contains the same amount of nutrients as its pulp. When dried peel powder is applied on the skin, it acts as a natural exfoliator. It removes dead skin and brings out new skin. At the same time, orange juice helps in keeping the skin hydrated. Adding natural ingredients like turmeric to it provides additional antibacterial benefits to the skin, which reduces pimples and rashes.
However, any natural thing should be used in balanced quantity only. Excessive use can cause dry skin. Therefore, it is better to do this remedy only two to three times a week.
