New Delhi, May 5 (IANS). Today’s hectic and irregular daily routine has a negative impact not only on the body but also on the mind. Therefore, along with stress, irritability, anger over small things, mood swings, insomnia, restlessness, loneliness and frustration have become common. In such a situation, experts say that mental health can be improved by making small changes in the daily routine.
NHM experts say that by including these habits in your daily routine, positive changes gradually start appearing. It is possible to find 30-40 minutes for yourself even in a busy routine. Mental health is not a big problem, but the result of small positive habits. If we create work-life balance, focus on self-care, spend time with family and do regular exercise and yoga, not only will our mental health be strengthened, but the overall quality of life will also increase.
According to the National Health Mission (NHM), mental balance, self-confidence and emotional strength can be easily improved by adopting small positive changes in daily life. Psychologist Dr. Garima Singh has given important suggestions to keep mental health strong.
Dr. Garima says that in today’s busy life, people become one-sided. In the adolescent stage, children pay full attention to studies. In their worries about making a career, they forget about sports, games or spending time with friends. Similarly, in adulthood, people become so busy in their professional responsibilities that they neglect family and personal life. The solution to this problem is to create work-life balance. In the adolescent stage, along with studies, time should also be made for sports, hobbies and social activities.
At the same time, adults need to balance family, health and personal time with job or business. For example, if the office is from 9 am to 5 pm, then after reaching home, one should leave aside the worries of the office and spend quality time with the family.
Another important way to improve mental health is self-care. Take some time for yourself every day. This could include your favorite hobbies like reading, listening to music, painting or gardening. Spending time with family members also increases happiness. Taking care of physical health is also important for mental health. Doing exercise, yoga or meditation daily proves beneficial. These small habits reduce stress, increase energy and keep the mind calm.
