New Delhi, May 13 (IANS). Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) President Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram on Tuesday night, where she underwent some medical tests and was discharged on Wednesday morning.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, while sharing information regarding Sonia Gandhi’s hospitalization, said that her condition is stable and she has now returned home after regular medical checkup.
Recently, Sonia Gandhi’s health has become a matter of great concern for the party as well as her well-wishers due to her frequent visits to the hospital.
Two months ago, the 79-year-old Congress leader was admitted to Delhi’s Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on March 24 after complaining of nausea and vomiting.
At that time, the hospital had said in its health related information that he was being treated for ‘systemic infection’ and antibiotics were having a good effect on him. He was discharged from the hospital after being treated for fever and body infection and spent about a week in the hospital.
In June last year, Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital in Shimla after complaining of high blood pressure. The emergency situation arose when she was on a private visit to Himachal Pradesh with her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
He had earlier been hospitalized due to a fungal infection in the respiratory tract, which was caused by Delhi’s high pollution levels, and was medically examined for the same.
Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who turned 79 in December last year, is currently a member of the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. He has served five terms as MP from the Lok Sabha seats of Amethi and Rae Bareli before being elected to the Rajya Sabha. He has also served two terms as party president.
