New Delhi, January 30 (IANS). Due to irregular daily routine and wrong eating habits, the problem of hyperacidity has become common in today’s time, in which the amount of hydrochloric acid in the stomach starts getting produced more than normal. This causes problems like burning sensation in the chest or stomach, sour belching, sour taste in the mouth, nausea and gas.
The main causes of hyperacidity include spicy, fried food, stress, irregular lifestyle and staying hungry for a long time. In Ayurveda it is called ‘Amlapitta’. It can be easily controlled with right habits and home remedies.
The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India released a simple and effective Ayurvedic guide to make people aware in view of the increasing cases of hyperacidity. The ministry says that by making changes in small daily habits, long-term relief from the symptoms of hyperacidity can be achieved and the digestive system can be strengthened.
Hyperacidity occurs when the amount of acid in the stomach exceeds normal. This causes complaints like burning sensation in the stomach and chest, heaviness or discomfort in the upper stomach, nausea, restlessness, sour taste in the mouth and sometimes vomiting. These symptoms can be easily controlled by identifying them in time and improving lifestyle.
For this, experts give some easy and effective suggestions, like completely avoiding heavy, very spicy, sour and spicy food, do not eat junk food, processed and packaged foods. Do not remain hungry or thirsty for long, eat small meals at regular intervals. Do not smoke and consume alcohol at all. Drink adequate amount of water daily, preferably 8-10 glasses a day. Sleep on time at night and get good sleep, irregular sleep can further spoil the digestion. For stress, anxiety and mental pressure, include yoga, meditation, pranayam or light walking in your daily routine.
These small changes not only reduce the symptoms of hyperacidity but also improve gut health. This guide is especially useful for those who frequently experience acidity, gas, burning sensation or stomach discomfort. However, if symptoms persist or become severe, seek immediate medical attention.
