New Delhi, October 22 (IANS). There are some minerals or chemical elements which are used in everything from fields to firecrackers, but the same chemicals also work as medicines and help in getting rid of many diseases. We are talking about sulfur.
Everyone must have heard the name of sulfur, because grandmothers and mothers use sulfur to protect from negative energy, but it is used as a medicine in Ayurveda.
Sulfur is a chemical and its scientific symbol is ‘S’ and it is also known as Sulfur in the market. It is yellow in appearance and its smell is unbearable, but in Ayurveda it is also used in treating skin diseases, maintaining youth and enhancing immunity. Its taste is pungent and astringent and its nature is hot. If there is an imbalance of Vata and Kapha in the body, then sulfur balances them.
Before consuming sulfur, it has to be converted into pure sulfur, so that it can be made edible. If you do not want to do this, pure sulfur is available in the market in the form of tablets and ashes. To make pure sulfur, heat sulfur in an iron pan and when it starts melting, add lemon juice to it. Do this process three times and dry the sulfur and make its powder.
Sulfur powder is used in many diseases. If there are boils, acne, itching or any skin infection, then sulfur powder can be taken. Apart from this, if the digestive power is weak and infections spread quickly then it can be consumed. This will help in increasing the energy power of the body and reduce fatigue, and will also remove the toxic substances present in the body.
Sulfur powder has been used in respiratory diseases. Sulfur powder is most beneficial in asthma, cough, cold and purifying the lungs. If you are troubled by hair related problems, then consumption of sulfur powder will help in reducing it. It prevents hair fall and also helps in keeping them black.
Consume sulfur powder only between 1 to 3 grams and it can be taken in the morning or evening before eating food. Keep children away from consuming sulfur powder. Otherwise, consume it only on the advice of an Ayurvedic doctor.
