New Delhi, March 9 (IANS). The winter season has bid farewell and the summer season has arrived. In such a situation, it is important to keep in mind that where people sunbathe in winter, they run away in summer. However, sunlight is necessary even in summer, but with some precautions. Sunlight not only provides warmth, but is also the most natural way to maintain both health and mood.
Especially in summer, when the sun is strong, it is beneficial to take sunlight at the right time and manner. According to the National Health Mission, sun rays increase the production of Vitamin D in the body, which strengthens immunity. Vitamin D keeps bones strong, provides relief from joint pain and improves metabolic function.
Spending some time in the morning sunlight increases serotonin hormone, which improves mood. This reduces problems like depression and anxiety. It keeps the heart healthy, controls blood pressure, and also helps in weight management. Spending a few minutes in the sun every day starts the day full of energy.
Pay special attention to the time and amount of sunlight in summer. According to experts, for Vitamin D, exposure to sunlight sometime after sunrise till 9 o’clock can be the best, because then UVB rays are more effective, but staying in sunlight for too long can cause skin burning, sunburn or increase the risk of skin allergies, so 10-20 minutes is enough. There is no possibility of skin burning in this. To compensate for less exposure to sunlight, do not spend too much time in the sun.
During this time, keep arms, legs and face open, but apply sunscreen on the face. Avoid strong sunlight in summer from 12 noon to 4 pm. Wear light clothes, use a hat or umbrella and drink plenty of water. To get the benefits of sunlight, take an open walk or sit in the balcony every morning. This is a natural method which strengthens the body without medicine.
