Nagpur, April 15 (IANS). President Draupadi Murmu attended the convocation ceremony of AIIMS Nagpur in Nagpur, Maharashtra on Wednesday. A doctor not only treats diseases but also instills hope in the minds of sick people.
He said that the empathetic advice given by doctors provides strength not only to the patient, but also to their family. Often, doctors face challenging situations, yet, even in such circumstances, they must maintain sensitivity towards the patient and their family. Patients and their families should also always have respect for medical professionals. This is essential to maintain the bond of trust between the doctor and the patient.

He expressed happiness to know that AIIMS Nagpur is continuously working in this direction.

They entrust doctors with the responsibility of protecting their health and life and that of their loved ones. Therefore, it is the social and moral duty of doctors to keep the interests of their patients paramount. By performing this duty sincerely, they can further enhance their reputation and that of the medical profession.
The President said that along with the spirit of service, doctors should also develop a commitment to lifelong learning. Curiosity is the foundation of progress. The urge to find new solutions in medical science will not only help them become exceptional doctors but will also provide them with more opportunities to serve. He advised the young doctors to imbibe the spirit of innovation, research and continuous learning.
