New Delhi, November 12 (IANS). Feeling stiffness in the back as soon as you wake up in the morning and making a sound like a squeak when you get up or turn over, all these signs point towards back problems.
Generally, such problems occur due to continuous sitting in the same position or lifting heavy objects, but Ayurveda has suggested many ways to get relief from back pain.
In Ayurveda, back pain has been associated with Vata dosha. When Vata Dosha increases in the body, the muscles present in the body become stiff and the risk of diseases like back pain, arthritis, slip disc increases. Apart from being in the same position continuously, this problem can also be caused by wrong diet, wrong posture and cold. Due to back pain, many types of symptoms are seen in the body, such as difficulty in bending, stiffness while walking, heaviness in the back and shoulders and pain from neck to waist.
In Ayurveda, back pain can be cured with changes in diet and home remedies. For this, massage with lukewarm mustard oil in the morning and then foment with warm water. Do fomentation by adding salt in hot water in the evening and night and if possible, also take bath in hot water. Doing this will provide relief from stiffness in the muscles. Oil massage can also be done at night, which will also increase blood circulation in the painful area.
When your back is sore, sleep on a soft mattress and do not put any kind of stress on the body.
In case of pain, take someone’s support while walking or getting up. Pain can also be relieved by changing diet. For this, increase products related to moong dal and milk in your diet. Eat moong dal or protein rich food once a day. Be sure to consume green vegetables and drink turmeric milk at night, which will help in reducing pain.
Along with this, soak fenugreek seeds at night and in the morning on an empty stomach, drink its water and chew some seeds. At such times, avoid carrying heavy items or bending too much. Also do light walking and stretching. Do not put too much pressure on the body while stretching. If the pain increases then definitely go to a physiotherapist.
