Ranchi: The way has been cleared for DNB studies in Sadar Hospital, Ranchi. Due to which now patients in the hospital will be able to get the services of specialist doctors 24 hours a day. The Doctors Hostel located in the hospital premises is being rejuvenated. The Health Department is spending Rs 2 crore 70 lakh for the renovation and strengthening of this hostel. This will see a big change in both the health system and medical education of the hospital.
This multi-storey hostel located in the Sadar Hospital complex was constructed at a cost of crores of rupees, which was in the absence of maintenance for a long time. Now it is being renovated with a cost of Rs 2.70 crore, so that the doctors living here will get modern facilities. Civil Surgeon Dr. Prabhat Kumar said that it will take 3 months for the hostel to become operational. There is still some work left which has been instructed to be completed.
The hostel has a total of 90 rooms. After the completion of the repair work, junior doctors doing DNB course and senior residents of the hospital will be able to live here. The biggest advantage of opening the hostel will be that doctors will be present in the hospital campus all the time. In case of emergency, patients will not have to wait long for senior or specialist doctors. Every day thousands of patients reach this grand Sadar Hospital with 800 beds for treatment. With the commencement of DNB studies and doctors staying on campus, patients will be able to get better and quick treatment even at night.
What is DNB course and its benefits?
DNB is a post graduate medical course, which is equivalent to MD or MS. With the commencement of its studies in Sadar Hospital, the hospital will directly get a large team of specialist doctors.
