New Delhi, June 22 (IANS). Aging is a natural process, which cannot be stopped. As age increases, the essential elements produced inside the skin gradually start decreasing. These include proteins like collagen and elastin, which keep the skin strong and soft. When these become weak, wrinkles, looseness and dryness start appearing on the face. In today’s time, not only age but also our daily habits are making the skin age quickly.
According to experts, smoking is one of the most harmful habits for the skin. Cigarette smoke contains many poisonous elements which shrink the nerves of the body. Due to this, less blood and oxygen reaches the skin. When the skin does not get proper nutrition, it gradually becomes weak and wrinkles start appearing before time.
Lack of sleep also has a deep impact on the skin. When we sleep the body repairs itself and creates new cells. But if sleep is not complete then this process does not happen properly. Stress hormones increase in the body, which slows down skin repair. Its effect becomes visible on the face in the form of fatigue, dullness and wrinkles, hence it is very important to sleep for 7 to 9 hours daily.
Drinking less water can also make the skin age quickly. Water is very important for both body and skin. It moisturizes the skin from within and keeps it soft. When there is lack of water in the body, the skin starts looking dry and lifeless. Due to this, lines also become more visible on the face. Drinking enough water keeps the skin clean and healthy.
Bad eating habits are also a major reason for increasing the age of the skin. If we eat too much fried, sweet or junk food then swelling in the body can increase. This inflammation gradually damages the skin cells. On the other hand, if we eat fruits, vegetables, pulses and food containing good fats, the skin gets the necessary nutrition and remains healthy for a long time.
Stress also affects the skin. When we take too much stress, such hormones are produced in the body which harm the health of the skin. Stress can reduce the glow of the skin and fatigue becomes clearly visible on the face. Wrinkles can also appear quickly due to prolonged stress.
In today’s time, pollution has also become a big threat to the skin. Dust, smoke and poisonous particles present in the air settle on the skin. These penetrate inside the skin and damage it and reduce its natural glow. Due to prolonged exposure to pollution, the skin starts looking old quickly.
