These four Ayurvedic methods are effective for eye care, AYUSH Ministry explains the benefits

New Delhi, December 27 (IANS). With increasing pollution and cold winds, it becomes necessary to take care of the entire body, but in this season it is also important to take care of the eyes.

Cold winds harm the eyes, causing irritation in the eyes, watering and the eyelids becoming sticky. In such a situation, the Ministry of AYUSH has given four effective methods for eye care, by which eyes can be taken care of in less time.

The Ministry of AYUSH has shared a post to maintain better eye care in which four such methods have been mentioned in which the eyes can be relaxed with the help of candle and cotton pad. The first is eye palming. In eye palming, the palms of both the hands are heated by rubbing together and applied on the eyes. This reduces eye fatigue and makes them feel relaxed. Constantly looking at the screen puts pressure on the eye muscles. Eye palming is the best way to reduce pressure.

The second is Tratak. This is an exercise through which eyesight can be improved, eyes cleaned and moisture restored. For this practice, a candle is kept at some distance. Keeps looking at the candle flame continuously without blinking. This increases the internal clarity of the eyes.

The third solution is wet cotton pads. Wet cotton pads are used to prevent eye strain and to get relief from headache. For this, cotton is taken, flattened and spread. Cotton is soaked in cold water or rose water and kept on the eyes for some time. Instead of this, some people also use cucumber pieces. It also helps in reducing the swelling under the eyes.

Fourth is to take steam. In winter, some people have difficulty in opening their eyes in the morning because the dirt in the eyes sticks badly on the eyelids. In such a situation, the eyes can be energized with the help of light steam. This prevents the eyelashes from sticking, but avoid taking too much steam as it also promotes dryness.
