New Delhi, June 10 (IANS). Union Minister of State for AYUSH Prataprao Jadhav discussed in detail the achievements of the Ministry of AYUSH under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the preparations for International Yoga Day 2026.
He told IANS that under the leadership of PM Modi, AYUSH, Yoga and Ayurveda have got new identity and respect not only in the country but also in the whole world.
Prataprao Jadhav said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed 12 years as Prime Minister and there are still three years left in his current tenure. The people of the country want that the country should continue to move forward on the path of development and progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi in the coming 5 to 10 years.
He said that the existence of AYUSH Ministry today is the result of PM Modi’s vision. For years, India’s traditional medical practices and healing systems did not receive the importance they deserved. Those who talked about yoga and Ayurveda were often considered outdated or non-scientific. Some political and social groups gave priority to other issues, but Indian knowledge such as yoga and Ayurveda were not given enough importance. Due to the efforts of PM Modi, today AYUSH and Yoga have received respect at the global level.
Giving information about International Yoga Day 2026, Jadhav said that this year’s theme has been kept as ‘Yoga for Healthy Aging’. This theme has been chosen keeping in mind the health, active lifestyle and better life quality of senior citizens. Yoga is not just a one day programme, but it is important to make it a part of life.
He said that the aim of initiatives like ‘Yoga 365’ of the Ministry of AYUSH is to connect people with Yoga throughout the year. Prataprao Jadhav appealed to the people to devote at least one hour every day to yoga for their health and mental balance. Yoga is the simplest and most effective medium to a healthy, balanced and happy life.
