New Delhi, 5 October (IANS). Union Minister Mansukh Mandavia has launched the ‘Sunday on Cycle’ Anthem. On Sunday, he also participated in the ‘Sunday on Cycle’ marathon held at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in the capital Delhi. The event was organized as a special edition on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day.
Union Minister Mansukh Mandavia shared the ‘Sunday on Cycle’ anthem on the social media platform ‘X’ and wrote, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Fit India Movement’ has brought a wave of fitness to every house. In this direction, the ‘Sunday on Cycle’ was launched on Sunday.”
Earlier, Mansukh Mandavia encouraged the participants in the ‘Sunday on Cycle’ marathon. The purpose of the marathon was to motivate people to adopt a healthy lifestyle through regular exercise and cycling.
He said, “Sunday on bicycle has become a movement. Millions of people across the country ride bicycles to stay fit every Sunday. I am happy that teachers are joining Sunday on bicycles from more than 10,500 places across India.”
During this, the Union Minister made a big appeal to the teachers to pursue the campaign. He said, “There are such a large number of teachers here. Teachers are a source of inspiration for students. By joining the Sunday on Cycle ‘campaign, you get a great opportunity to teach children, educate the society and motivate the community. When we ride a bicycle, we need to maintain balance. Similarly, when there is a balance in life, we can move forward only when there is a balance in life.”
A children’s marathon race was also organized on the duty path in Delhi, in which NDMC Vice President Kuljit Singh Chahal took part. He appreciated the program being run by institutions for fitness.
On this occasion, Sarika Jain, president of the Divine Prayas Foundation, said, “About 800 children participated in this race organized by Divya Prayas Foundation and Kidividi. The Prime Minister had talked about this initiative from the Red Fort and in the 119th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ and also said that if our country can reduce the consumption of food 10 percent, then it will benefit public health.”
