New Delhi, May 2 (IANS). Pregnancy is a beautiful journey of change, strength and new beginnings in a woman’s life. During this time, it is important to take special care of the mother’s health because if the mother is healthy, the child will also be healthy. The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India advises pregnant women to do yoga. Yoga is very beneficial not only for physical but also for mental health.
Many problems are reduced by doing yoga during pregnancy. Generally women suffer from back pain, headache, nausea and difficulty in breathing. Regular yoga reduces these problems to a great extent. Yoga asanas provide flexibility to the body, strengthen muscles and provide the necessary strength and stamina at the time of delivery. Yoga also improves the quality of sleep. Many women struggle with sleep problems during pregnancy. Yoga leads to deep and comfortable sleep. Also, it helps a lot in reducing stress and anxiety.
Stress is common during pregnancy, but yoga keeps the mind calm and the mother feels a deep emotional connection with the child. According to the Ministry of AYUSH, yoga nurtures the mother so that she can nurture the coming child well. It keeps the mother calm, balanced and energetic. Yoga prepares the mother physically and mentally at every stage of pregnancy.
On the occasion of Mother’s Day (May 10), the Ministry of AYUSH has made a special appeal that every pregnant mother should include yoga in her daily routine. The ministry says that “the first gift of a mother is health”. By adopting yoga she can keep herself healthy and can also give a healthy life to her child.
Easy and safe yoga asanas have been specially designed for pregnant women. These should be done with the advice of a doctor or yoga expert. Yoga done correctly not only makes delivery easier but also makes recovery after delivery faster.
