Yoga is a panacea to keep diseases away: CM Fadnavis

Mumbai, June 21 (IANS). Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Sunday that yoga is a panacea to prevent lifestyle diseases. Especially at a time when cases related to diseases have increased significantly in recent times.

He said that to stay healthy everyone should do yoga regularly.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was speaking at the 12th International Yoga Day program organized near the food court on Juhu Beach. During this, Chairman of Maharashtra Legislative Council, Prof. Ram Shinde, MP Ravindra Vaykar, MLA Amit Satam and BJP leaders Shivprakash, Keshav Upadhyay, Pawan Tripathi, Deepti Vaykar also joined the yoga practice on the stage.

He said that a person who does yoga regularly can successfully face challenges in any mental condition. He stressed the need to promote and popularize the science of yoga. He also appealed to the people to do yoga regularly to keep their body healthy and mind calm and happy.

Recalling India’s contribution in giving global recognition to Yoga, he said that India had proposed to celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21 in the United Nations. It is one of the most rapidly adopted resolutions in the history of the United Nations and was adopted without any opposition.

He said that today yoga is practiced all over the world as per India’s proposal. The world has recognized the importance of yoga for physical and mental health. Interest in Yoga Science and Yoga Therapy is increasing worldwide.

He said that a human being is not just a body but it also includes mind and soul. The human mind is connected to nature from within. Therefore, the science of yoga considers body, mind and soul together. Yoga helps to heal the relationship between the mind and the elements of nature. Regular practice of yoga not only improves health but also strengthens you mentally.

Shivprakash also addressed the people on this occasion. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis did many yoga asanas during the event. Yoga instructors and a large number of citizens also participated in this event.
