New Delhi, October 17 (IANS). In today’s busy life, most people are troubled by stomach problems and the most common problem is constipation. This is a condition in which bowel movements do not occur properly, the stomach remains heavy, gas is produced and one feels tired throughout the day. Earlier this problem was limited to the elderly, but now everyone from small children to the youth are struggling with it. In such a situation, the Ministry of AYUSH advises to include yoga in your life.

According to the Ministry of AYUSH, yoga is not just limited to making the body flexible and strong, but it also strengthens our stomach and digestive system. If some special yoga asanas are done especially in the morning on an empty stomach, then gradually the complaint of constipation starts going away.

Pawanmuktasana: Pawanmuktasana helps in expelling gas from the stomach. It is done lying down and involves bending the legs and touching them to the stomach, which puts mild pressure on the intestines and provides relief from constipation.

Balasana: In Balasana, one sits with the body bent and the stomach is lightly massaged. It not only relieves constipation but also calms the mind.

Paschimottanasana: Paschimottanasana affects the stomach, spine and waist. Leaning forward in this helps in internal cleansing of the stomach and improves blood circulation.

Supta Matsyendrasana: Supta Matsyendrasana activates the intestines and improves digestion.

Marjarasana: In Marjarasana, bending the body back and forth activates the stomach and provides relief from problems like gas, acidity.

Malasana: Malasana is not only beneficial for constipation but also gives balance to the body. Sitting in this has an effect on the colon and makes bowel movements easier.
