Mumbai, May 4 (IANS). Actress Shilpa Shetty is well known for her dedication towards fitness and yoga. She emphasizes on maintaining flexibility and strength through yoga practice. On Monday, he shared a post on Instagram emphasizing the importance of Vartulasana.

In the video posted, the actress is seen practicing ‘Vartulasana’. In this post, the actress not only showed the exercise but also explained its benefits in detail.

The actress posted the video and wrote, “Vartulasana is a yoga posture that brings the body in a circular position. This asana gives benefits to the body similar to Halasana. In this, the body is bent and taken backwards, due to which the entire spine gets stretched.

He further wrote, “It activates the thyroid gland, which improves metabolism. Improves digestion and increases blood circulation. Strengthens the shoulders and upper back.”

Actress Shilpa Shetty always advises to do yoga in the right way. He further clarified in his post that if there is a physical problem like back pain, slip disc, cervical spondylosis or hernia, then avoid practicing this asana.

Ayurveda and yoga tradition also emphasized the importance of ‘Vartulasana’. According to him, Vartulasana is considered an excellent asana to keep the body’s balance, digestion and nerves healthy. Although it is primarily a hatha yoga asana, its benefits match Ayurveda’s principles of balancing tridosha (vata, pitta, kapha).

To do this, sit in Padmasana posture. Now place your hands on the ground between the thighs and knees. While inhaling, lift your entire body up with the help of hands, maintain balance. Stay in this posture (Tula) for a few seconds, then slowly come back. This asana tones the abdominal organs, thereby improving digestive power (Agni) and proper absorption of food.
