New Delhi, January 17 (IANS). During the winter season, due to intensification of digestive fire, hunger occurs frequently and quickly. Within a few hours of eating food, one feels like eating spicy, spicy and crispy food. In such a situation, people resort to chips, salty and fried foods along with tea to satisfy their hunger, which harms digestion and also the heart.
To deal with such small hunger pangs, popcorn can be used, which will take care of both taste and health.
Popcorn is a better choice for a snack, as it is not fried and spicy compared to chips. Secondly, to keep the chips fresh inside the packet, chemicals are also used, the consumption of which is a health hazard.
Whereas popcorn is a whole grain, very little oil and spices are used in its preparation and it can be easily made at home with less effort. By eating this, appetite remains balanced and there is no problem of overeating.
Popcorn contains more nutrients than all other snacks. It is rich in carbohydrates, fiber, protein, fat, iron, magnesium and antioxidants. Vata dosha increases in the body during winter. Due to its dry nature, popcorn balances the growth of Vata in the body and eating it does not increase calories.
Overall, popcorn consumption also helps in controlling your weight.
Consumption of fried and spicy foods increases cholesterol in the body, which directly affects the heart and blood vessels, but popcorn has cholesterol reducing properties. It reduces the pressure on the blood vessels. Apart from this, if eaten in limited quantity, popcorn is also better for stomach health, but if there is problem of gas formation or indigestion then avoid eating it.
Now the question is how will consuming popcorn be beneficial? Popcorn should always be prepared by mixing it with black salt, desi ghee and cumin powder. This also increases the taste of popcorn and is also beneficial for the stomach.
