60.13 percent voting completed till 5 pm in the first phase of Bihar assembly elections

Bihar recorded 60.13 per cent voting till 5 pm for the first phase of assembly elections, according to data shared by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Among the 18 districts, Begusarai recorded the highest turnout of 67.32 percent, followed by Gopalganj at 64.96 percent and Muzaffarpur at 64.63 percent. Patna district has won with 55.02 percent voting.

62.76 percent voting took place in Lakhisarai district, while 65.74 percent voting took place in Madhepura.

Till 5 pm today, 53.24 percent voting took place in Bhojpur district. After this, 55.10 percent in Buxar, 58.38 percent in Darbhanga, 60.65 percent in Khagaria, 54.90 percent in Munger, 57.58 percent in Nalanda, 62.65 percent in Saharsa, 66.65 percent in Samastipur, 60.90 percent in Saran, 52.36 percent in Sheikhpura, 57.41 percent in Siwan. 59.45 percent voting took place in Vaishali.

In major constituencies, 64.01 percent in Raghopur, 54.88 percent in Mahua, 58.05 percent in Alinagar, 58.33 percent in Tarapur, 60.51 percent in Lakhisarai, 56.32 percent in Chapra, 40 percent in Bankipur, 62.14 percent in Phulwari, 51.18 percent in Raghunathpur, 57.38 percent in Siwan. 62.16 percent voting took place in Mokama.

A total of 5,677 voting centers have been made in Patna for voting. This includes 541 women polling stations, 49 Adarsh, 14 PWD and 3 youth polling stations.

– Chief Minister Nitish Kumar voted in his home town Bakhtiyarpur. Before voting, he wrote on social media platform ‘X’ that voting is not only a right but also a duty of the citizens.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary voted in Tarapur. He said that the development work that has been done under the leadership of Nitish Kumar should continue. The change we are seeing today is the result of long efforts. Vote for development.

– Union Minister Giriraj Singh said after voting in Lakhisarai that checking the identity of women wearing burqa is necessary to stop ‘vote theft’. This is not religious bias. We do not live in Pakistan. Neither Tejashwi Yadav’s government will be formed in Bihar nor will Sharia law be implemented here.

– RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav along with his father Lalu Prasad Yadav and other family members voted at the Veterinary College booth in Patna. Tejashwi asked the youth to form a new government to bring change.

– Former Chief Minister Rabri Devi also appealed to the people to bring change by voting.

– Tejashwi’s sister Rohini Acharya expressed confidence that this time the public will defeat the double engine government.

– Tej Pratap Yadav, who is the president of Janashakti Janata Dal and the current MLA of Hasanpur, voted at the Veterinary College Ground and said that all the people of Bihar should vote, every vote is important.” This time he is contesting from Mahua seat, from where he started his political career in 2015.

– Union Minister of State for Home and BJP MP Nityanand Rai, State Road Construction Minister Nitin Naveen appealed to the public to vote.

RJD candidate from Saran district Khesari Lal Yadav and BJP leader Bikhu Bhai Dalsania also voted in the morning. In Vaishali district, a candidate reached the polling booth riding a buffalo and appealed to the people to vote.

– Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and BJP candidate from Lakhisarai Assembly seat, Vijay Kumar Sinha voted in the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections. Vijay Kumar Sinha said, “We also participated in this great festival of democracy… It is in this great festival of democracy that we elect the Prime Minister of the country and the Chief Minister of Bihar through our votes… Bihar will be freed from Jungle Raj and Gunda Raj. Voting is taking place in a very peaceful manner. This is to increase the respect of Bihar, every Bihari should participate in it.”

– Folk singer and BJP candidate from Alinagar Maithili Thakur said, “…I only pray to God that if I have written someone’s service with my hands, I should get this opportunity. I hope whatever happens will be in everyone’s interest.”

– RJD leader and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi said, “There is an appeal to all voters to cast their vote… Mother’s best wishes to both the sons. Blessings to both of them.” She said, “I appeal to women, children, everyone to come out of their homes and vote… This time there will be change, the public will bring change.”

– Union Minister Rajeev Ranjan (Lalan) Singh voted in the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections. After voting, Lalan Singh said, “This is a great festival of democracy and we all should vote, first voting then refreshments. There is no problem anywhere. The government will be formed again in Bihar with full strength under the leadership of Nitish Kumar…”.

, RJD MP Misa Bharti said, “Vote thoughtfully for your future, for the future of your children. Give your support to the Grand Alliance.”

Let us inform you that voting for the second phase will be held on November 11 in 122 assembly constituencies of 20 districts. The results will be announced on November 14.

In the first phase, a total of 1314 candidates are in the fray in 121 assembly constituencies. This includes 1192 male and 122 female candidates. In the first phase, a total of 3,75,13,302 voters will seal their fate in EVMs on November 6.

Voting in these districts in the first phase

The districts of first phase voting are Madhepura, Saharsa, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Samastipur, Begusarai, Khagaria, Munger, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Nalanda, Patna, Bhojpur and Buxar.

Strict security arrangements

The Election Commission has made tight security arrangements to ensure peaceful voting. At the same time, special monitoring is being maintained at sensitive booths. About four and a half lakh security personnel have been deployed for election work, which includes 1500 companies of central force. Apart from this, more than 60 thousand Bihar Police personnel, 30 thousand Bihar Special Armed Police, 22 thousand Home Guards, 20 thousand trainee constables and about 1.5 lakh watchmen have also been deployed for election work. In view of the elections, the border of Nepal has also been sealed. Teams of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Bihar Police are doing joint patrolling. Apart from this, border districts have also been alerted and surveillance has been increased.

Of the 18 districts where voting is to be held in the first phase, five districts – Bhojpur, Buxar, Gopalganj, Siwan and Saran share the border with UP. In such a situation, special vigil is being maintained on the border with Uttar Pradesh. Vehicles are being checked by creating additional checkposts in the border areas. The cooperation of Uttar Pradesh Police is also being taken in keeping vigil on the border. In the second phase of elections, voting is taking place in the districts bordering Nepal, Bengal and Jharkhand.
