A division bench of the Delhi High Court, comprising Justices Subramaniam Prasad and Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar, suspended the life sentence of Kuldeep Singh Sengar and granted him bail. He has been granted relief on the condition of depositing a bail bond of Rs 15 lakh. However, he has not yet been granted bail in the case of custodial death of the victim’s father, hence he will remain in custody. His appeal and application to suspend his sentence are pending in the Delhi High Court. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison in that case.
While granting bail, the High Court directed that Sengar not enter within a radius of 5 kilometers of the victim’s residence. It was also directed that Sengar should remain in Delhi. They should not contact the victim’s family.
