Akbaruddin Owaisi criticized the governments regarding the demolition, said 'There is no difference between BJP and Congress; Muslims are being targeted'

AIMIM floor leader and MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi has launched a scathing attack on both the BJP and the Congress, alleging there is no difference in the approach of the two parties towards Muslims and accusing them of targeting the community under the guise of demolition drives.

Speaking on the issue, he said, “There is no significant difference between BJP and Congress. In Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath uses bulldozers to demolish dargahs, mosques and Muslim houses. In Telangana, Revanth Reddy also acts with similar cruelty. His enmity is not towards encroachment or anarchy. His enmity is towards Muslims.”

Owaisi alleged that the purpose of the demolition drive is not to stop illegal encroachments in general, but to selectively target Muslim properties. It is noteworthy that the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), which had supported the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy-led Congress government in Telangana after it came to power, had filed a complaint in the recently held Jubilee Hills Assembly by-elections as well as local bodies and municipalities. Had also supported Congress in elections.

Despite this political support, the party has now openly and strongly opposed the state government for the first time on the demolition issue. On Thursday, Telangana BJP president N Ramachandra Rao met residents of Madhu Park Ridge Apartments, who have alleged that they are at risk of losing their homes due to the proposed Musi river bank project.

In a conversation under “Musi Gosa BJP Bharosa”, residents expressed deep concern over development on the river bank, which could lead to their displacement. Several families shared their grievances before the BJP leader, with some of them breaking down in tears while describing their uncertainty and pain.

After hearing their complaints, Rao assured them of support and strongly criticized the state government, claiming that these houses would be demolished because of the Gandhi statue. He also noted that many of the residents included ex-servicemen, calling the situation “shameful”.
