Justice Vivek Kumar Singh of Allahabad High Court heard the petition filed for security and said that illicit relations do not have the right to get protection from the police.
After hearing the petition, the bench of Allahabad High Court said that because of being married, husband and wife have the legal right to live together. This right cannot be taken away because of any third person. On the petition filed by the live-in couple, Allahabad High Court said that the people giving it are already married. In the petition, the live-in couple had argued that they are adults and hence are living together willingly. At the same time, on this petition, the government lawyer said in Allahabad High Court that legally the woman is still the wife of a man. On behalf of the government, the High Court was told that no court has given any order regarding the divorce of the woman. After this argument of the government lawyer, Allahabad High Court refused to provide security to the woman, terming her live-in as illegal. The court even said that bigamy and adultery are the same.
