New Delhi. The NIA Special Court’s verdict has been challenged in the Bombay High Court for acquitting 7 accused including Pragya Singh Thakur, retired Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Purohit, accused in Maharashtra’s Malegaon blast case. A petition has been filed on behalf of the bomb blast victim Nisar Ahmed, Syed Bilal and 5 others, demanding the cancellation of the decision of the NIA Special Court. NIA Court Special Judge AK Lahoti said in his judgment on 31 July that there was no evidence that Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Purohit made a bomb and was blasted in Malegaon with Sadhvi Pragya Thakur’s bike.
Justice Lahoti said that terrorism has no color or religion. No religion advocates violence or terror. Calling it a serious incident against the society, the judge said, saying that only one cannot blame anyone on morality. Along with this, Justice Lahoti had also ordered Rs 2 lakh to the families of those killed in the blast and Rs 50,000 to the injured as compensation. Let us tell you that in this 2008 bomb blast, 6 people were killed and 101 were injured. MCOCA was also imposed on other accused including Sadhvi Pragya.
At the same time, after the decision of this case, Retired Inspector of Anti -Terrorism Squad (ATS) Mehboob Muzawar had claimed that the case was ordered to arrest Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sir Sanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat. The then investigating officer of the case, Paramveer Singh and an officer older than him, pressured Bhagwat to arrest. He said that through Bhagwat’s arrest, the theory of saffron terrorism was to be provided. Not only this, Yogi Adityanath was also under pressure to implicate in this case.
