The UAE Defense Ministry has informed that on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the country’s air defense system has successfully intercepted 5 ballistic missiles and 35 drones coming from Iran. The ministry has made it clear that the army is on full high alert and is ready to deal with any threat to the security of the country. These attacks have resulted in injuries to civilians and loss of life and property due to falling debris in some areas.
How much damage has been caused in the attacks so far and who was affected?
Due to these attacks, citizens of many countries living in UAE have been affected. According to government data, so far 9 civilians have died, including people from India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. In a recent incident, an Indian citizen has been injured by falling drone debris in Umm Al Quwain. Apart from this, there is news of death of a Bangladeshi citizen in Fujairah. A total of 190 people have been injured so far and are undergoing treatment.

After these attacks, many new rules have been implemented for security reasons. Airlines like Emirates and Etihad have banned the arrival of Iranian citizens, although Golden Visa holders are exempted. The government has issued a strict warning that no one should share photos or videos of these attacks on social media. Doing so falls under the category of cyber crime and can spread fear among the public.
