India is going to start its campaign of Asia Cup 2025 against UAE from 10 September. The Indian team has so far competed with the UAE in T20 format, which took place in the 2016 Asia Cup. After nearly a decade, both teams will be face to face, where India’s captaincy Suryakumar Yadav and UAE will be commanded by Muhammad Wasim. UAE opener Alishan Sharafu said that getting a chance to play against superstar players like Indians is no less than a dream. He admitted that players like Jaspreet Bumrah and Hardik Pandya can overturn the match alone and it would be a big experience to play against them.
India has launched its entire powerful team for this tournament as it is watching it as a preparation for the 2026 T20 World Cup. On the other hand, UAE has recently played a tri -series against Pakistan and Afghanistan, in which they did not win. However, he lost by just 4 runs in the last match against Afghanistan. Sharafu says that even though the victory was not won, the team’s confidence remains intact and the players are ready to give India a tough competition.
He said that India is one of the best teams in the world, but the UAE players will not play the name but will play according to the position of the ball and the game. His focus will be on his basic forces. The UAE team, playing in the Asia Cup for the first time since 2016, consists of many young and experienced players including captain Muhammad Wasim, Alishan Sharafu, Power Hitter Asif Khan.
