Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday announced that the state government will provide financial assistance of one thousand rupees per month to the young men of the graduate state under the ‘Chief Minister’s Nishcha Self Help Allowance Scheme’.
Earlier, this scheme was applicable only for unemployed youth who have passed 12th standard.
With this announcement of the Chief Minister, those graduates in the age group of 20-25, who are not studying anywhere, are not in job or self-employment and are not employed in government or private sector, they will be provided this allowance for a maximum of two years at the rate of Rs 1000 per month.

The Chief Minister said that the purpose of this allowance is to provide financial assistance to the youth for skill development training and preparation for competitive examinations, so that they can secure their future.
CM Nitish Kumar said that the Bihar government has taken another important step towards making the youth strong and self -reliant. Since the formation of the new government in November 2005, it has been the priority of the government to provide government jobs and employment opportunities to the youth.
In this series, several schemes have been launched to achieve the goal of providing employment to one crore youth in the next five years. He said that the government aims to not only make the youth self -reliant with this initiative, but also make significant contribution in the development of the state and the country.
Along with this, the government is constantly making efforts to create new employment opportunities in government and private sectors. Skill development training programs are also being run rapidly to make the youth employment oriented.
