Kolkata. West Bengal BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Subhendu Adhikari has alleged a chit fund scam of Rs 350 crore in Paschim Bardhaman district. Shubhendu Adhikari has written on X that Tehseen Ahmed, son of Shakeel Ahmed alias Master Shakeel, co-president of the minority branch of TMC in West Bardhaman district, has committed a chit fund scam. The BJP leader alleges that the TMC leader’s son embezzled the money of more than 3000 families of Asansol in three years. According to Shubhendu Adhikari, Rs 350 crore was collected by opening a fake company without a license. Shubhendu has also shared Tehseen’s video in his post. In which he is heard apologizing. In the video, people are seen alleging that they invested money in the scheme.

The BJP leader has written in the post that TMC leader’s son Tehseen Ahmed promised 14 percent interest per month on investment of Rs 1 lakh in 20 months. Under this, those who invested were to be given Rs 2.8 lakh. According to Shubhendu Adhikari, Tehseen then went missing on 15 October 2025. According to the BJP leader, people invested the money saved by selling land, taking loans and for the marriage of their daughters in this chit fund and all their money was lost due to the scam. Shubhendu Adhikari has alleged that by giving security, the big leaders of TMC and the administration wasted the hard-earned money of the common people.
