New Delhi. Like every year, this year also the Central Government has announced a bonus related to productivity for railway employees. Every year railway employees are given bonus before Durgapuja. 11.5 lakh employees of Group C and Group D of Indian Railways will get 78 days bonus this year. With this, the families of these employees will be able to celebrate the festival of Dussehra and Diwali with enthusiasm.

In a meeting of the Union Cabinet on Wednesday under the chairmanship of PM Narendra Modi, it decided to give bonus to railway employees. Railways will directly give the amount of bonus in their group C and D employees’ bank accounts. Before the start of Durga Puja, the amount of bonus will come to the accounts of railway employees. Track maintainer, loco pilot, train manager i.e. guard, station master, technician, helper, pointsman, ministry staff, non -gadted employees get a bonus related to productivity in the railway. Last year, about 11 lakh railway employees were given bonus before Dussehra.

However, several union leaders of the railway had demanded a bonus on the basis of the Seventh Pay Commission. The minimum basic salary in the Seventh Pay Commission is 18000. Union leaders have said that the minimum basic salary in the Sixth Pay Commission was Rs 7000. He also objected to the bonus being given on the minimum salary of the sixth pay commission. It is believed that after the recommendation of the Eighth Pay Commission is implemented, the government can make the increased minimum wage to give bonuses.
