The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a major update regarding the 10th and 12th board examinations for Indian students living in the Gulf Countries (GCC). The board has decided to officially postpone all the examinations scheduled to be held on March 5 and March 6, 2026. This order will be applicable in countries like Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The board has cited regional conditions and security reasons as the main reasons for this delay.
New exam date and important information
According to the notification issued by CBSE Controller of Examinations Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, the papers to be held on Thursday and Friday will now be taken later. The board has not yet announced the new dates but has said that schools and students will be informed in time. Earlier, the examination of March 2 had also been postponed. Now whether the papers to be held from March 7 will be held on time or not, it will be decided in a review meeting to be held on March 5.
Important instructions for students and parents
This change is only for schools in the Middle East and Gulf countries, while the examinations in India will continue on their old schedule. Students do not need to get a new admit card, only the old admit card will be valid for the new dates. There has been no change in the syllabus, pattern and marking scheme of the exam. Students have been advised not to trust any fake news circulating on social media and only visit the official website.
