The picture will change by March 2026
Under the master plan of the airport administration, a target has been set to increase the capacity of T-3 from 2 crore to 3 crore international passengers annually. The current work for this is expected to be completed by March 2026. To free up space, Air India had shifted its 60 domestic flights from T-3 to T-2 on October 26 itself. Apart from this, Air India Express has shifted all its domestic flights to T-1, so that there can be more space for foreign passengers at T-3.
New rules and expenses for travelers
The path inside the terminal has also changed now. According to the latest update, the passenger bridge has been divided. Now domestic passengers will turn left for Gates 37-62, while international passengers will turn right for Gates 27-36. Along with this, the new rules will also affect the pockets and luggage of passengers.

The Customs Department has started the facility of duty-free on goods worth up to Rs 75,000 for Indians returning from abroad from February 3, 2026. However, the proposal to increase the Airport Fee (UDF) is currently under consideration in the Supreme Court, which if implemented may increase ticket prices significantly.
