A Delhi court on Tuesday ordered framing of charges against Congress MP Karti P. Chidambaram and six others in the Chinese visa scam case.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) special judge Dig Vinay Singh, who is hearing the case against Karti Chidambaram and seven others, ordered framing of charges against seven accused and discharged one Chetan Srivastava in the case.
The court ordered framing of charges against seven accused for the offense of alleged criminal conspiracy. Detailed order in this matter is not available yet.
Karti Chidambaram is accused of bribery in 2011 in getting visas for Chinese citizens who was then working for a power company. Then his father P. Chidambaram was the Union Home Minister. In this case, CBI had filed a charge sheet against Karti Chidambaram and others in October 2024.
