New Delhi. A female doctor of a government hospital in Satara district of Maharashtra has committed suicide by hanging herself in a hotel. Before dying, the doctor wrote a suicide note on his palm in which he accused a police sub-inspector of raping him four times and mentally torturing him. Another person has also been accused. The name of the deceased doctor is Dr. Sampada Munde and she was working in the Upazila Hospital located in Phaltan, Satara. Police have sent the doctor’s body for post-mortem and are investigating the matter. While accused Sub Inspector Gopal Badne has been suspended.

It is written on the palm of the deceased, I am committing suicide because of Police Inspector Gopal Badne. He raped me four times, tortured me mentally and physically. Earlier, the victim had written a letter to the Deputy Superintendent of Police of Phaltan on June 19 and had made similar allegations in it. It is being told that the female doctor committed suicide late on Thursday night. On the other hand, after this incident, there is panic in Maharashtra Police and Health Department. The police is investigating how much truth is there in the allegations made by the deceased doctor against the Sub Inspector.
On the other hand, the Women’s Commission has also taken cognizance of this matter. Maharashtra Women Commission Chairperson Rupali Chakankar said that we have ordered Satara Police to take strict action against the accused. Police teams have been deployed to search for the accused. Suicide by a female doctor is a very unfortunate incident and whoever is accused in it will not be spared under any circumstances. Forensic team inspected the spot, police are investigating the case from every angle.
