President Draupadi Murmu on Saturday greeted the people of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Puducherry on their foundation days.While Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah He also extended best wishes to other states including Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh on their foundation day.
Through a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Murmu wished the success of these states and union territories and the prosperity of their residents. He wrote, “Hearty congratulations to the residents of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Puducherry on their Foundation Day! All these sectors have contributed significantly to India’s progress.
He said, “May these states and union territories continue to set new records in their development journey. I wish all its residents the continued prosperity and well-being.”

Congratulating the people of Chhattisgarh, the Home Minister said that the Central and State Governments are fully committed to eliminate Naxalism which is a hindrance in the development and welfare of Chhattisgarh, a state rich in tribal culture and art. He said, “Naxalism is taking its last breaths in the state and the country. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led central and state governments will completely eliminate the Red Terror by March 31, 2026, and usher in a new era of development in Chhattisgarh.

Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep came into existence on this day in 1956.
Punjab and Haryana were formed in 1966 and Chhattisgarh was formed in 2000 by separating from Madhya Pradesh. All these states and the union territory Puducherry celebrate their foundation day on 1 November.
