Heavy rains that occurred in the night of Sonwar have caused heavy havoc in Himachal Pradesh. Three people died and two were rescued when a rock debris fell on a house in Nihri area of ​​Mandi district.

Superintendent of Police Sakshi Verma said, “Three people died, while two others were rescued. The rescue teams have reached the spot and the campaign is still going on.”

Heavy rains in Mandi district caused heavy destruction in Dharampur town. Police said that Mandi has been raining continuously since Monday night and Dharampur bus stand is filled with water. Many buses and vehicles were swept away in the rapid flow of water.

DCP Dharampur Mandi said, “The city of Dharampur has been the most affected, as the Son Khad river suddenly got up and it took a fierce form. Around midnight, flood water entered the bus stand, which drowned many government buses and drown dozens of private vehicles, including cars, bikes and scooters.”

The DCP said that no casualties have been confirmed so far, although one person has been reported missing and officials are still confirming the report.

Meanwhile, debris entered several houses and shops and caused heavy damage to vehicles. The water level of Son Khad is now decreasing, while the police and administration are busy assessing the situation at the ground level.

The houses and shops along the river were flooded, causing the residents to climb the roofs for safety. A hostel with about 150 students was also flooded, but all the students managed to visit the upper floors. Police and rescue teams led by DSP Sanjeev Sood carried out rescue operations overnight.

Debris has entered many houses and shops and vehicles have suffered heavy damage. The water level of Son Khad is now decreasing, while the police and administration are busy assessing the situation at the ground level.

The monsoon havoc in Himachal Pradesh has killed 404 people since June 20. The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) on Sunday confirmed that there were 229 deaths in rain -related incidents and 175 deaths in road accidents. This information was received from the SDMA report on Monday.

According to the cumulative damage report issued by the SDMA, the deaths due to rain occurred due to landslides, sudden floods, drowning, lightning, lightning and collapse of houses. According to the districts, there were 37 deaths related to rain in Mandi, followed by Kangra (34), Kullu (31), Chamba (28) and Shimla (23), which included the most affected districts.
