The day of 13th December is recorded in history with many major events in the country and abroad. In 2001, on the morning of 13 December, the dark shadow of terror had reached the threshold of the country’s democracy. Terrorists used a white Ambassador to enter the Parliament House, which stands proudly in a very safe area of the country’s capital, and managed to fool the security personnel, but before their steps could defile the temple of democracy, they were killed by the security forces.
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah paid tribute to the security forces who were martyred while giving a befitting reply to the terrorists in the terrorist attack on Parliament on 13 December 2001.
In a post on Twitter, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah said, “Today is a day to remember the indomitable bravery and courage of our security forces against terrorism, when in the year 2001, they foiled the dastardly terrorist attack on our Parliament House, the largest temple of democracy in the world, with their courage. I salute the soldiers of the security forces who attained martyrdom while giving a befitting reply to the terrorists. This nation is brave. Will always be indebted to the sacrifices and sacrifices of the fighters.”
The day of 13th December also witnessed another incident related to terrorism. In 1989, terrorists had kidnapped the daughter of the then Home Minister of the country, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, in order to get the release of some of their jailed comrades. On December 13, the government accepted the terrorists’ demand and released five of their associates.
