India’s Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has spoken on phone to the Foreign Ministers and Prime Ministers of five major countries in view of the increasing tension and changing circumstances in the Gulf Region. Jaishankar discussed in detail the latest developments in the region with the leaders of Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE and Iran. The main objective of the Government of India is to ensure the safety and welfare of millions of Indian expatriates living in these countries.

Kuwait: Jaishankar took information from the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister about the latest situation there and emphasized on the safety of Indians.
Bahrain: The Government of Bahrain officially assured that they will take all necessary steps to keep the Indian community safe.
Qatar: The Prime Minister of Qatar has assured the well-being and peace and happiness of the Indians living there.
UAE: In talks with the Deputy Prime Minister and the External Affairs Minister, India expressed concern over the deteriorating situation in the region and discussed the welfare of migrants.

The Foreign Minister also spoke on phone to Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi. During this, India’s deep concern was shared over the recent developments in Iran and the entire region.
