New Delhi. US President Donald Trump had recently claimed that Pakistan is secretly conducting nuclear tests. He also took the names of Russia, China, North Korea. Now India has reacted to this claim of Trump. Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said covert and illegal nuclear activities are part of Pakistan’s history, which has centered on smuggling, export control violations, secret partnerships, the AQ Khan network and nuclear proliferation for decades. India has always drawn the attention of the international community towards these aspects of Pakistan. Our focus is on President Trump’s claim about Pakistan.

On the question asked about Quad, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson replied that we see Quad as a valuable platform among the four partners to discuss important issues of their interest in the Indo-Pacific region. The Quad is making continuous progress. We recently organized the ‘Ports of the Future Conference’ of the Quad during the India Maritime Week in Mumbai. We are in touch with the UAE authorities, spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said regarding retired Major Vikrant Jaitley. Our embassy is aware of this matter. We have had consular meetings with him four times. We are also in touch with his family including his wife. Naturally, whenever any Indian citizen needs assistance, we provide all possible assistance.

Jaiswal said, on November 3, the matter had come up in the Delhi High Court and the High Court had given some directions. Based on those instructions, we are providing all possible assistance to Major Vikrant. It is noteworthy that retired Major Vikrant Jaitley, brother of Bollywood actress Celina Jaitley, was detained in the United Arab Emirates in September last year and has been in jail there for more than 14 months. Major Vikrant was living in UAE since 2016 and was working at MATITI Group which is involved in trading, consulting and risk management services.
