Six people have died due to vomiting and diarrhea after drinking contaminated water in Bhagirathpura area of Indore. A top administration official gave this information on Saturday.
District Magistrate Shivam Verma told ‘PTI-Video’ about the latest condition of the victims of the outbreak of vomiting and diarrhea caused by drinking contaminated water, “At present, a total of 203 patients are undergoing treatment in 41 hospitals of the city and six people have died.”
He said that till now a total of 13 thousand 444 houses have been surveyed. Doctors were assigned 24 hours duty. 10 ambulances are deployed for referral, beds have been identified in hospitals for free treatment. 24X7 call center is active for grievance redressal, help desk has also been set up.
Regarding deaths due to drinking contaminated water, Collector Verma said that whatever the doctor’s team tells is being taken into consideration. 6 deaths have been officially confirmed. He informed that ring survey is also being conducted in the area. A panel of senior doctors of the medical college has been formed for investigation.
Here, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav held a big meeting on Friday regarding the incident in Indore, in which 16 Municipal Corporation officials and public representatives were present. In the meeting, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav gave instructions to test the water of all the water sources of Madhya Pradesh. He said that an incident like Indore should not be repeated. Water samples of all water sources should be tested and clean drinking water should be provided to the people. SOP should also be issued for cleaning of tanks, water supply, identify 20 year old pipelines and check them. He instructed the collectors to form a monitoring committee at the district level and oversee the entire system.
