A huge exchange of players has taken place before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season. In this trade, former Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson will now be seen in the yellow jersey of Chennai Super Kings (CSK). On the other hand, CSK’s experienced all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran have joined the Rajasthan Royals team. Former Indian player Irfan Pathan has made a big claim regarding this change that Samson joining CSK will prove to be very beneficial against Rajasthan.
Important points about trade of Sanju Samson and Jadeja
This trade was confirmed only in November 2025. In this exchange, there have been changes in the teams and fees of three big players.
Sanju Samson: He has gone to Chennai from Rajasthan and his fees will remain the same as before at Rs 18 crore.
Ravindra Jadeja: Returned to Rajasthan from Chennai. His fee has been reduced from Rs 18 crore to Rs 14 crore.
Sam Curran: He has also come to Rajasthan from Chennai and his fee will remain Rs 2.4 crore.
Ravindra Jadeja won his first IPL title with Rajasthan Royals in 2008 and now he has returned to the same team. However, Riyan Parag can be seen captaining the Rajasthan team.
Irfan Pathan’s statement and Samson’s form
Irfan Pathan has said that Sanju Samson being in the CSK team will be a huge advantage against Rajasthan Royals. Pathan has praised Samson’s ability to score fast runs and play fast bowlers. Sanju Samson has also become the Player of the Tournament in the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup 2026. In the final match of the World Cup, he played a brilliant inning of 89 runs in 46 balls.
This big match between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals will be played on 30 March 2026 at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati. This will be the first time that Sanju Samson will take the field in CSK jersey against his old team Rajasthan.
