The Defense Ministry of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has informed about foiling a major missile and drone attack by Iran on Saturday, March 28, 2026. The country’s air defense system destroyed these threats in the air itself, thereby averting a major accident. However, some people have been injured due to missile debris falling in the industrial area of Abu Dhabi and incidents of fire have also been recorded. Officials have clarified that the security forces are fully prepared to deal with any threat.

Latest information on damage and injuries in Abu Dhabi
According to the UAE Defense Ministry, the army successfully shot down 20 ballistic missiles and 37 drones coming from Iran. The Abu Dhabi Government Media Office said that debris from the intercepted missile falling in the Khalifa Economic Zone had caused a fire at two places, which has been brought under control. A total of six people have been injured in this incident, which includes five Indians and one Pakistani national. The condition of the injured is said to be out of danger and they are being given proper medical aid.

On March 28, not only UAE but also Saudi Arabia and Kuwait foiled attempts to intrude into their airspace. Kuwait’s Defense Ministry informed that they destroyed four ballistic missiles and three drones that were targeting Mubarak al-Kabir and al-Shuwaikh port. Amidst this ongoing conflict from 28 February 2026, the security agencies of the Gulf countries are on high alert and are continuously monitoring.
