Last year, ABVP had won the post of Joint Secretary, but this time the ABVP candidate could not win even a single seat.
There was a contest between Left candidate Aditi Mishra and ABVP candidate Vikas Patel for the post of President. In which Aditi Mishra won by more than 400 votes. The winning candidate for the post of Vice President was K. Gopika Babu defeated Tanya Kumari of ABVP by more than 1200 votes. Left’s Sunil Yadav defeated ABVP’s Rajeshwar Kant Dubey for the post of General Secretary. Whereas Danish Ali (Left) won the post of Joint Secretary by defeating Anuj Damara (ABVP). In this way, three out of four posts have been captured by girl students.

Apart from Aditi Mishra and Vikas Patel, a total of seven candidates were in the fray for the post of President – Vikas Bishnoi (NSUI), Raj Ratan Rajoria (BAPSA), Shirsha Indu (Disha), Shinde Vijayalakshmi (Progressive Students Association) and Angad Singh (Independent). Let us tell you that in the Jawaharlal Nehru University Student Union elections, voting is done through ballot paper and not through EVM machines, that is why the counting of votes took time and the results could be released after some delay.
