Patna. Before the end of the campaign for the second round of Bihar Assembly elections on Sunday, RJD supremo and former CM and Railway Minister Lalu Yadav has given a statement about JDU President and current CM of Bihar Nitish Kumar. While talking to The Indian Express newspaper, Lalu Yadav said that this time RJD will remove Nitish Kumar from power. Lalu Yadav also rejected the possibility of alliance with Nitish. RJD supremo said that now we will not accept Nitish Kumar. On another question he said that we are not in touch with Nitish Kumar.
Lalu Yadav told the newspaper that this time the main issue in Bihar assembly elections is unemployment. If RJD government is formed, it will remove unemployment in Bihar. By saying that he will not forge any more alliance with Nitish Kumar, Lalu Yadav has made it clear that now he wants to see his son Tejashwi Yadav not as Nitish’s henchman but on the post of CM of Bihar. Last time when Nitish’s JDU and Lalu Yadav’s RJD formed the government together, Tejashwi Yadav was made the Deputy CM by Nitish Kumar. Whereas, Lalu’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav was also made a minister in Nitish Kumar’s government. At present Tej Pratap Yadav is contesting Bihar Assembly elections by forming his party Janashakti Janata Dal.
During the Bihar Assembly elections, Nitish Kumar had fiercely targeted the 15-year-long government of Lalu Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi. Nitish Kumar said in every public meeting that during the tenure of Lalu and Rabri governments, there was no development in Bihar, jobs were not provided and women were also treated unfairly. Nitish also reminded the public of Jungle Raj in Bihar during Lalu’s rule. Nitish Kumar said loudly in his public meetings that during the rule of Lalu Yadav and Rabri Devi, markets used to be closed in the evening and people were forced to remain confined to their homes due to fear of miscreants. Perhaps these are also the reasons due to which Lalu Yadav is talking about not supporting Nitish Kumar anymore.
