LPG Gas Cylinder: There is no shortage of gas cylinders in the country, government bans rumours, new rules for booking implemented

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has made it clear that there is no shortage of gas cylinders in the country. Joint Secretary Sujata Sharma said that compared to March 5, domestic LPG production has been increased by 30 percent. The government has appealed to the people not to pay attention to rumors of cylinder shortage and not to panic and book without any reason.

New rule implemented regarding gas booking

Due to rumours, people were continuously booking gas cylinders out of fear. To stop this, the government has implemented a new rule of 25 days. Under this, after booking one cylinder for domestic use, the second cylinder can be booked only after 25 days. This step has been taken so that there is no shortage of gas in anyone’s house and hoarding can be prevented. At present, more than 50 lakh gas cylinders are being delivered to people’s homes every day across the country and the delivery time is about 2.5 days.

Government made concrete arrangements for supply

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has assured the Parliament that the supply of gas to the kitchens of more than 33 crore families in the country will not stop. In view of the tension in the Middle East, India has changed the route of importing 70 percent of its crude oil so that there is no impact on the supply chain. Furthermore, all refineries have been ordered to put 100 per cent of their focus on producing only domestic gas. For the convenience of the general public, 48,000 kiloliters of additional kerosene has also been given to the states.
