The late former Prime Minister and eminent economist Dr. Manmohan Singh has been posthumously awarded the PV Narasimha Rao Smriti Economics Award for India’s economic change and his contribution to nation building.
Hyderabad -based PV Narasimha Rao Smriti Sansthan (PVNMF) said in a statement that last week his wife Gursharan Kaur received the award in the national capital.
The award was presented by the former vice -president of the previous Planning Commission and a special Fellow Montek Singh Ahluwalia of the Center for Social and Economic Progress.
The award was established by PVNMF to recognize excellent contribution to economics. PVNMF President K Ramchandra Murthy and General Secretary Madamchetti Anil Kumar were also present at the function.
