New Delhi. Regarding the recent incident that happened with an Indian woman at Shanghai Airport in China, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has advised its citizens to take appropriate precautions and use their discretion while traveling to China or transiting through that country. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, we expect the Chinese authorities to provide assurances that Indian nationals transiting through Chinese airports will not be selectively targeted, arbitrarily detained or harassed and that the rules governing international air travel will be respected by the Chinese side.

On the UK government imposing sanctions on the Punjab Warriors Sports Investment Firm, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, we welcome the steps taken by the UK government to ban the anti-India extremist organisation, which will strengthen the global fight against terrorism and extremism and help curb illicit financial flows and transnational crime networks. Such individuals and institutions are a threat not only to India and Britain, but to people around the world. Regarding Pakistan’s attack on Afghanistan, Randhir Jaiswal said, we have seen reports of clashes on the border of the two countries in which many Afghan civilians have been killed. We condemn such attacks on innocent Afghan people. India strongly supports the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Afghanistan. Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on the current situation in Pakistan, we keep an eye on every activity happening in Pakistan. But as far as democracy is concerned, democracy is weakening in Pakistan. His powers are weakening. Democracy and Pakistan cannot go together.
