Sonam Raghuvanshi, accused of killing her husband Raja during her honeymoon in Meghalaya, has filed a bail plea. The first class judicial magistrate of Sohra sub-division has fixed September 17 for hearing his petition.
Additional Public Prosecutor Tushar Chandra said that the petition was filed on Friday, but the prosecution sought time to investigate the record of the case. Sonam’s lawyer has claimed “flaws” in the charge sheet filed in the murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi.
King Raghuvanshi was murdered by three killers in a deserted parking near Wisawadong in Sohra when he was on his honeymoon in the state. His wife and his lover Raj Kushwaha had allegedly planned to murder.
Raja and Sonam went missing from Meghalaya in May, after which a search operation was carried out across the country. Eventually, the body of the king was found and Sonam surrendered to the Uttar Pradesh Police, while the investigators of Meghalaya caught the other accused.
Last week, the police filed a 790 -page charge sheet against Sonam, Raj and three killers – Vishal Singh Chauhan, Akash Rajput and Anand Kurmi.
